Lesson 7 of 7 in Run the Week
Why this matters
Sometimes the evidence points to a better path than the current plan: a fresh diagnosis, or a logged outcome that changes the picture. The system surfaces these as suggestions, never as silent changes, because the Learn step only helps when a person decides what the evidence means. Accepting every suggestion turns the plan into a reaction to the latest number; ignoring them all leaves it working from stale evidence. Reviewing each one deliberately is how the loop returns to Plan without losing direction.
When to use it
When "Suggested changes to your plan" shows a suggestion. Also after you log an important outcome or re-run the diagnosis, since those are the moments suggestions tend to appear.
Before you start
- Know that nothing changes until you approve it. Recommendations are read-only; your review is the gate.
- Have the related evidence fresh: the logged result or the diagnosis change behind the suggestion.
Do this
- 1Find the "Suggested changes to your plan" section inside "What changed and why" on the Marketing Plan. It appears only when there is a suggestion; its absence means there is nothing to propose, not a broken feature.
- 2When a suggestion appears, read its title and the reason given beneath it.
- 3Ask the skeptical questions. Does the evidence support this, or is it a coincidence (see Read What changed and remember your decisions)? Does it respect my capacity and my primary outcome? Can I override parts of it?
- 4To act on it, choose "Edit plan with this context". That opens Edit plan, which builds a new plan (the button shows its credit cost): the current plan is archived, open custom tasks carry forward, and the new plan arrives as a draft. See Review a proposed plan adaptation.
- 5Apply, adapt, or leave it. Nothing on the plan changes until you do: the new draft waits for review, and "Use this plan" activates it.
What you should see
Either no suggestions section at all, or suggestions with their stated reasons. After an edit, a new draft with "Use this plan" waits for your review; the plan never changes silently.
How to judge it
Every suggestion on your plan has been reviewed by you: applied or adapted through an edit, or deliberately left alone. Nothing on the plan changed without your decision.
What it does not mean
A suggestion is a read, not a verdict. The system saw something in the data worth your attention; it does not know your business better than you do. A plan you reject does not silently train the next one: discarding a plan excludes it from your next plan, and only your feedback on what was wrong carries forward.
