Lesson 5 of 7 in Run an Agency or Multi-Client Practice
Why this matters
Clients judge a practice by the rhythm of its reporting as much as by its results. A weekly briefing that arrives on schedule, is read by a person, and is corrected before anyone relies on it keeps that rhythm without improvising twenty summaries every Monday. The review is also where Measure and Learn actually happen: missing outcomes and open decisions surface before they reach a client. Briefings are emailed to the workspace owner, not the client, so you stay the editor of what each client hears.
When to use it
Every Monday after the scheduled briefings arrive, in one sitting for the whole book, and before any client review that week.
Before you start
- Each client has an active standing plan. Scheduled weekly briefings are generated only for clients that have one.
- Each client's Digest Timing is set on its Workspace page.
- Weekly digest emails is on under Settings → Notifications for the workspace owner. If it is off, scheduled briefings are skipped.
Do this
- 1For each client, open Workspace, choose a timezone in Digest Timing, and click Save. The card reads "The weekly digest sends Monday at 7:00 AM in this timezone. Leave unset for 7:00 AM UTC."
- 2On Monday, open Clients and find Weekly briefing review. Its queue lists up to six clients from the top of the attention queue, or your most recently added clients when nothing needs attention.
- 3To produce briefings for the queued clients in one batch, click Generate queued briefings. The page reports how many were generated and how many failed.
- 4Read each briefing against the client's plan: the executive summary, what changed, wins, what needs attention, and this week's priorities. Open client plan takes you to the first queued client's tasks.
- 5Fix what the briefing flags before you speak to the client: record missing outcomes and resolve open decisions (see Review pending decisions and missing outcomes).
- 6Send each client only their own material. Export the plan with Save as PDF from that client's Marketing Plan, or invite the client as a Viewer on their workspace alone. Open the file before sending and check the business name.
- 7File what the client tells you back into their workspace: corrections in the Business Profile, new material in Research.
What you should see
Each client with an active standing plan produces one briefing email during the 7:00 AM hour on Monday in its Digest Timing zone. After a batch run, Clients shows a line with the number of briefings generated and any failures. A client without a standing plan gets no scheduled briefing; that is correct, not a fault.
How to judge it
By Monday midday you have read a briefing for every active client, cleared or scheduled every flag it raised, and every client received material that names only their business.
What it does not mean
A briefing summarizes recorded work. It is not a verdict on the client and not a report to forward unread. It reflects only what was logged, so missing outcomes make it thinner, not wrong. Generating one sends nothing to the client's contacts; it goes to the workspace owner. See Digest timing and the Monday briefing.
Try it in Signal & Science
Open Workspace and confirm the Digest Timing timezone for each client before Monday's review.
