Build the Right Plan

Build an outcome-first plan that targets one bottleneck, fits real capacity, and gives every task a measurement contract.

Lessons

  1. 01Name the outcome firstSet one primary target with a baseline, a target value, and dates before you build a plan, so every task has an outcome to be measured against.
  2. 02Set the planning focus and the success contractAnchor the plan on one Planning Focus, and confirm each measured task names its target, metric, source, and measurement window.
  3. 03Fit the plan to capacity and the growth modelCut the plan down to the current bottleneck and your real weekly capacity, and park the remaining findings deliberately.
  4. 04Treat recommended work as advice, not ordersRead the reasoning behind recommended work, then accept, edit, or skip it based on what you know about the business.
  5. 05Edit, reorder, skip, or discard a plan responsiblyChange a plan on purpose by reordering work, skipping with a reason, adding custom tasks, reviewing suggestions, and discarding when evidence says no.
  6. 06Distinguish a fresh plan from a reassessmentTell whether a plan is completed, stale, or the wrong bet, and choose between closing it out, rebuilding from new evidence, and starting fresh.
  7. 07Close out the plan and keep the learningRecord results for completed tasks, judge the plan against its target, and carry what it taught into the next plan.
