How Signal & Science Works

Learn the six-step operating loop and name the one business outcome your workspace should be working toward.

Situation

You (or a teammate) just got access and need to understand the operating loop (Diagnose → Prioritize → Plan → Execute → Measure → Learn) in one sitting, before clicking around.

Outcome

You can explain the loop in your own words and name one current business outcome the system should be working toward.

Steps

  1. 1Open the Marketing Plan (Open in Signal & Science). This is the hub: a working system, not a feature catalog.
  2. 2Read the hero, "THIS WEEK'S MOVE" (open-ended, goal-driven plans label it "YOUR NEXT MOVE"): the move, why it matters, and its impact and channel.
  3. 3Click "Ask why this move" on the hero task card to see the reasoning behind the recommendation.
  4. 4Read the Built-from strip: "Built from your diagnosis (the displayed date) · Business Intake". Both are links. The plan comes from evidence, not guesswork.
  5. 5Open the Diagnostic (Marketing → Diagnostic) and read one capability area: note its state (Observed / Unknown) and, for observed areas, its confidence (high / medium / low). Then check the run's evidence basis, which applies to the whole report: a banner above the report flags a direct-scan-only or unavailable run.
  6. 6Say the loop back in your own words: Diagnose → Prioritize → Plan → Execute → Measure → Learn. The diagnosis produces evidence, you prioritize the move that matters, the plan turns it into weekly work, the work gets executed, results are measured and recorded, and what was learned informs the next cycle. You decide direction and what ships at every step.

Signal & Science keeps the evidence, the plan, and the results in one place, so each lesson here becomes a working habit in your own workspace.
