Before you start

First follow Set up MCP access to check Business or Agency eligibility, copy the correct address and review permissions. These recipes reflect client documentation. Additional clients have not all been individually tested with Signal & Science; verify a harmless read before relying on one.

Claude

In Claude on the web, Claude Desktop or Cowork, open the connector settings and add a remote custom connector with the connect address from Signal & Science. Complete sign-in and select workspaces. In a managed organization, an owner may need to add or approve the connector first. Remote connectors are separate from local desktop extensions.

ChatGPT

Check that your ChatGPT account or workspace permits custom MCP server connections. In the current interface, open Plugins, choose Add custom MCP server, enter the connect address from Signal & Science and select OAuth authentication. Review the tools and complete sign-in. Workspace owners or administrators control creation, publishing and access.

If your workspace still uses the earlier Apps interface, open Apps, Create, enter the same address, select OAuth and scan the tools. Select the resulting plugin or app in a chat. After permissions or tools change, refresh the tool list and start a fresh conversation. A custom connection does not imply a listing in the public app directory.

Gemini Apps

Google currently requires a personal Google Account, age 18 or over, US availability, English and Keep Activity on. Custom apps are not currently available to work or school accounts. Check your Connected Apps settings for availability.

In the Gemini web app, open Settings, Connected Apps (sometimes under Personal Intelligence), and add a custom app using the connect address from Signal & Science. Follow sign-in and review workspace permissions. Once connected on the web, the app is available on web and mobile. Enter @ and select the custom app when you want Gemini to use it.

Verify access

Check and manage the connection: ask which workspaces the client can access, then request a read of the current plan without making changes. Check the workspace and permissions in Signal & Science. Revoke the connection or token when it is no longer needed.

Signal & Science keeps the evidence, the plan, and the results in one place, so each lesson here becomes a working habit in your own workspace.
